Feeling Sad? Need Help? Call 211 MD Governor Hogan address Mental Health

Mental challenges are often hidden until it’s too late. But there is help.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan and Rep Jamie Raskin just introduced a brand new program to address Maryland residents’ psychological well being. It’s named after the son of Rep. Jamie Raskin, who died by suicide.

The Thomas Bloom Raskin Act will provide help for Marylanders who are challenged with their psychological well being. This new outreach can be accessed in Maryland by calling 211.

The Raskin program offers check-ins tailored to individual needs. For example, a resident could request a check-in every day or on a specific day of the week.  Some individuals in crisis can be referred quickly to disaster facilities and even to emergency personnel when warranted.

Just call 211
