The 2023 Middleburg VA Christmas Parade: A Celebration of Joy and Tradition

Middleburg, a charming town in Virginia's horse country, is known for its annual Christmas Parade, which attracts thousands of spectators from near and far. The parade, which has been held since 1979, showcases the town's rich heritage and culture, as well as its festive spirit and community pride.

The parade is part of a larger event called Christmas in Middleburg, which celebrates and promotes the good news of Christmas, inviting everyone to come share in the joy as a season of the heart all year long. The event features various activities and attractions, such as breakfast with Santa, a silent auction, a craft fair, kid-friendly activities, food and drink, a progressive wine bar tour, and more.

The highlight of the event is the parade itself, which takes place on the first Saturday of December each year. The parade starts at 11:00 a.m. with the Middleburg Hunt Review, a traditional spectacle of hounds and horses parading down Main Street before hunting. The hunt review is followed by the main parade at 2:00 p.m., which features foot beagle hunt clubs, polo clubs, animal affinity groups, community groups, enthusiasts groups, business floats, reenactment bands, high school bands, and Santa on his coach drawn by matched Ayreshires. 

The parade is a unique opportunity to witness the town's history, as well as its love for animals and nature. The parade also reflects the town's values of hospitality, generosity, and creativity, as the participants and organizers put a lot of effort and enthusiasm into making the event a success.
