Update: Please note that the book signing has been changed to Sunday, June 4th 2:30 to 4:30pm.
The Gaithersburg Post is proud to publish this letter to the editor:
To whom it May Concern: I am an ESOL teacher for Montgomery County Public Schools and children's author for the Simran & Sehaj series. The Simran & Sehaj series were created to raise awareness for Sikhs, at the same time targeting social justice issues that occur here at home and globally.
This year, I will be publishing, "The Land of Five Rivers" to raise awareness for the on-going human rights violations occurring in my parent's hometown of Punjab in India. Punjab is occupied by a majority of Sikhs, but are less than 2% of the population of India. Punjab has an amazing history and geographical information that the book will review with children and adults.
On Sunday, June 4th 2:30 to 4:30pm.
, we will be launching the book at the Washington Sikh Center in Gaithersburg. This will allow community members, NonSikhs, the opportunity to visit and experience a Sikh house of Worship and meet and greet the author.
Note from the editor: Dr. Simarjeet Kaur Sandhu also has a well written children’s book called “We Are Sikhs”. Please check it out. Beautiful book! Beautiful people!
